Job description

We are currently seeking a Refrigeration Engineer for our client in the Engineered Material Solutions domain. Salary: $125,000/Annually

Role: Refrigeration Engineer

Primary Skills: Engineering

Role Description: The Refrigeration Engineer must have 5+ years of experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Interface with the design team and customers to understand and develop product specifications.

- Evaluate trade-offs between performance/functionality, quality, cost and schedule.

- Design the refrigeration system in the product by sizing and selecting refrigeration components and sensors.

- Key refrigeration items include compressors, evaporators, condensers, expansion devices (cap tubes, TEVโ€™s, EEVโ€™s) and fans for air-cooled products.

- Design the controls for the refrigeration portion of the product.

- Create refrigeration product schematics.

- Develop and execute verification test plans.

- Write test procedures and engineering reports.

- Create new items and BOMโ€™s for the refrigeration portion of the design.

- Manage the refrigeration portion of the product for new product development.

- Ensure that cost, performance and schedule goals are achieved.

- Actively manage risk mitigation efforts.

- Follow established procedures; drive continuous improvement and update procedures applicable to your area as necessary.

- Provide product support from early concepts, through product development and throughout production.

- Support failure and root cause analysis of prototype and production level products

- Would interact with other product team members globally, as most programs require use of global resources.

Required Experience and Skills:

- Solid understanding of total system testing, debugging, manufacturing, low cost, high quality and reliability

- Able to work independently and prioritize work based on the candidates understanding of the given overall project requirements as well as other projects within the organization

- Good experience and skills in technical problem solving, analyzing system risk, identifying options, making recommendations

- Daily use of Microsoft Office software

- Experience designing products with green refrigerants a major plus (A2Lโ€™s, CO2, propane, etc.)

- Experience with mechanical enclosure/ sheet metal assembly a plus

- Experience designing mechanical liquid pumping systems a major plus

- Experience/ Knowledge with SolidWorks a plus

Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or another related field or Equivalent

Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience

Relocation: This position will not cover relocation expenses

Travel: Travel โ€“ limited.Typically, less than 5% per year.Domestic and International travel is possible.
