SUMMARY
The Key Account Manager is a trusted advisor to United Alloy's customers and potential customers, exhibiting passion about delivering exceptional results. The Key Account Manager plays a role in growing relationships with United Alloy's strategic customer accounts. The role manages strategic market, revenue, and profitability objectives. They will maintain a keen working knowledge of their customers and maintain high-level oversight to project success through alignment with colleagues.
This position can be a remote position that will report out of our corporate office in Janesville, WI, Dayton, OH or Seguin, TX.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Customer Engagement
    • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with strategic accounts.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, understanding industry trends, challenges and opportunities as well as customer needs and expectations.
    • Represents the voice of customer within United Alloy.
    • Ensure proactive issue resolution and continuous improvement in service delivery.
    • Facilitate client visits, plant tours, and technical reviews to build trust and transparency.
    • Champion innovations and changes that enhance customer value.
  • Portfolio Oversight
    • Manage a portfolio of high-value accounts, including OEMs, packagers, contractors and industrial service providers, aligning customer needs with overall company strategy and revenue targets.
    • Act as the primary liaison between customer and internal teams to ensure seamless communication and service delivery.
    • Build yearly forecast plan and manage regular facilitation of forecast accuracy and scheduling in collaboration with key internal stakeholders.
    • Responsible for long-term demand planning as well as securing and finalizing near-term orders to meet or exceed goals.
    • Manage performance and health of relationships, monitoring on time delivery, quality and relationship metrics.
  • Key Account Development
    • Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts, including new projects, products or markets.
    • Collaborate with engineering and sales teams to develop proposals and quotes tailored to client specifications.
    • Lead contract negotiations and renewals, ensuring profitability and client satisfaction.
    • Monitor and report on market trends, analyze competitors, and growth opportunities to inform strategy as well as adjust daily tactics based on real-time insights.
  • Technical Collaboration
    • Work closely with production, quality assurance, and engineering teams to meet client technical requirements.
    • Translate client feedback into actionable feedback for improvements with key stakeholders.
  • Reporting & Analysis
    • Track customer KPIs such as on-time delivery, defect rates, and customer satisfaction scores.
    • Review results to forecast accuracy and recommend changes or alignments needed.
    • Provide regular performance reports and strategic insights to senior leadership.
    • Analyze quotes and to routinely ensure and support the long-term partnership with customers and growth of United Alloy.
    • Forecast demand and plan capacity for key accounts.
  • Sales Process and Operations:
    • Communicate progress regularly with transparency around demand and sales activities.
    • Drive adoption of best practices within the sales organization to drive consistent policy and process implementation.
    • Create operational protocols, tools and systems to foster clarity, accountability and efficiency across the sales team.

WHAT YOU BRING
  • A bachelor's degree in business or engineering related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience successfully selling fabricated products to large OEM customers preferred.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn about our business and its customers, with an eagerness to continue to learn.
  • A highly organized and disciplined person able to prioritize and differentiate between the important and unimportant.
  • Passion for developing technical solutions for customer applications.
  • A collaborative mindset that seeks alignment cross-functionally as well as with external partners.
  • Valid driver's license is required. Must have a clean MVR report.
  • A working proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Adapted to working in an ERP system environment.
  • Ability to travel +10% of the time
