Job description


Help lead innovative solutions that put healthy food within reach for our Community! The La Crosse Area Family YMCA is seeking a passionate and community-focused leader to support programs that address nutrition and food insecurity throughout our community. Working closely with the Food Access Director, the full-time, Food Access Assistant Director position, plays a key role in expanding food access, strengthening community partnerships, and ensuring high-quality program operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of YMCA Food Access Programs.
  • Build and support ongoing community partnerships and relationships.
  • Assist in monitoring compliance for USDA Reimbursed Food Programs.
  • Work alongside the Food Access Director to implement strategic initiatives and action plans.
  • Support program operations, staff leadership, and service delivery efforts.
  • Help identify opportunities to expand community impact and food access services.

Requirements
  • Passion for addressing nutrition and food insecurity.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • 2+ years of USDA food program experience preferred.
  • Program management and supervisory experience a plus.
  • Food service preparation and/or food management experience a plus.
