Job description

Document Control Specialist

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Schedule: Full-Time | Contract & Contract-to-Hire

Pay Rate: $23-$30/hr (based on experience)

Overview

We are seeking experienced Document Control Specialists to support municipal and public works projects across Los Angeles. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely management of project documentation.


Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and manage project documentation in accordance with client and regulatory standards
  • Track, log, distribute, and file all incoming and outgoing documents
  • Ensure strict version control and document accuracy across all project records
  • Manage document control systems and maintain organized digital and physical filing structures
  • Support project teams with document retrieval, reporting, and audit preparation
  • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders to ensure timely document flow
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure all documentation aligns with project schedules and compliance requirements
 

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of document control experience within construction, engineering, utilities, or public works
  • Hands-on experience with document management systems such as Procore, Aconex, SharePoint, Bluebeam, or similar
  • Strong understanding of document lifecycle, version control, and audit compliance
  • Experience managing RFIs, submittals, drawings, and project records
  • High level of attention to detail and organizational accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting municipal or government-funded projects
  • Familiarity with public works compliance standards and documentation requirements
