Job Summary

The Account Executive develops new business and grows revenue within the remarketed vehicle transportation market across Canada, with a primary focus on auctions, financial institutions, rental car companies, fleet organizations, dealer groups, and vehicle remarketing partners. This role identifies new opportunities, builds strategic customer relationships, and delivers transportation solutions that create long-term value for customers while driving profitable growth for United Road. The Account Executive manages an active sales pipeline in Salesforce and represents United Road through in-person customer engagement, industry events, and consultative selling.

Job Duties

  • Drive revenue growth and expand brokerage business within the remarketed vehicle sales channel, with a specific focus on developing the untapped Montreal market and other regions across Canada
  • Generate new business through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, cold calling, customer visits, and industry events, supported by a territory plan that prioritizes the strongest revenue opportunities
  • Travel extensively (at least 70%) throughout Ontario, Quebec, and other Canadian markets to build customer relationships and represent United Road Canada at auctions, industry meetings, trade shows, and customer events
  • Build executive-level relationships with auction leadership, dealer principals, fleet managers, rental organizations, remarketing companies, and other key decision makers
  • Identify and pursue occasional OEM operations opportunities as they arise, in addition to primary remarketed sales activity
  • Serve as a key point of contact for customers such as auction partners, large dealer groups, and large car rental companies
  • Develop account growth strategies to increase shipment volume and wallet share within existing customers, including regular business reviews with key accounts
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships by understanding each customer's transportation challenges and recommending customized logistics solutions through a consultative sales approach
  • Negotiate with customers and carriers to win business that is desirable and profitable for the company
  • Research and communicate pricing to current and prospective customers to gain business
  • Maintain an accurate pipeline of customer activities, forecasts, and opportunities in Salesforce, with timely follow-up on every open opportunity
  • Enter all sales orders into the company system, ensuring a high level of accuracy and completeness
  • Partner with Operations, Carrier Relations, Pricing, and Account Management to deliver an excellent customer experience
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively and professionally; work within a cross-functional team to address service issues as needed
  • Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue, margin, and activity goals
  • Ensure all decisions and personal actions support an open, friendly, and professional work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • College degree or years of sales experience, preferably in a trucking or logistics environment
  • Demonstrated success achieving or exceeding sales quotas
  • Experience developing new business through prospecting and managing a sales territory, using Salesforce or an equivalent CRM
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures, with intermediate computer skills
  • Automotive logistics or finished vehicle transportation experience not required, but strongly preferred
  • Experience with dealer networks, import/export, or vehicle auctions required
  • Must reside in the Ontario area
  • Willingness and ability to travel at least 70% of the time throughout Canada, and into the United States
  • Available to work in the Ontario office three days per week during initial onboarding and training
