Job description

Kenny Electric, established in 1974, is a leading Industrial and Commercial electrical contractor with a diverse portfolio of project work. We operate under a set of core values: integrity, trust, quality, family, and community. We are looking for driven and organized individuals who share the same pride and enthusiasm for the industry as we do.
Purpose: The BAS Technician's primary responsibilities include automation systems installations, wiring, diagnostics and troubleshooting.
Essential Duties include the following:
  • Performing BAS installations for commercial and industrial customers
  • Daily tasks include building automation systems installations, electrical control work, wiring and cabling, troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Develop working knowledge of VFDs, mechanical rooms, cooling towers, generators, gas systems etc.
  • Adhere to current NEC and industry related practices, including area classifications
  • Maintain professional demeanor with both colleagues and customers
  • Adapt to changing project needs and demanding work environments
  • Performs other assigned duties as needed

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Prior experience in building automation controls technician work
  • Knowledge of VFDs, Mechanical Rooms, Cooling Towers, Generators, Gas Systems, Med-gas, etc.
  • Experience in wiring systems, project installations, electrical control work and troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current NEC and industry-related practices, including area classifications
  • Possesses assertive problem-solving ability, and adheres to professional conduct in addressing issues with appropriate parties
  • Preferred knowledge of P&ID and control schematics

Physical Requirements:
  • Able to work off all types of ladders, lifts and elevated platforms (electric or gas powered)
  • Able to work at various heights up to 50 feet from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks, or other safe work areas
  • Able to work in restricted areas, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces and attics
  • Able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead
  • Able to carry tools and materials up to 50 pounds from the ground to overhead
  • Able to constantly move on feet, climbing ladders and working overhead
  • Possess good vision (normal or corrected)
  • Must be able to get to various customer sites as required

Work Environment: Able to work in all elements, depending on job locations and time of year
