 Job Title: Kennel Supervisor

Location: Jackson Springs, NC

Reports To: Kennel Manager
Job Type: Full-Time
 


Job Summary:

The Kennel Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day care of animals and supervising kennel staff to ensure a clean, safe, and compassionate environment for all animals. This position plays a key role in maintaining high standards of animal welfare, cleanliness, and customer service, and serves as the liaison between kennel attendants and management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily operations of the kennels, including feeding, cleaning, walking, and general animal care
  • Follow Veterinary updated SOP’s on kennel sanitation/contamination protocols
  • Assign tasks to kennel attendants and monitor staff performance
  • Manage time and attendance software
  • Complete annual evaluations, disciplinary reports, and incident reports
  • Train and support new team members in daily procedures and safety protocols
  • Monitor the health and behavior of animals; report concerns to the manager or veterinarian
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping for feeding, medication, and behavior observations
  • Assist in administering medications or treatments as directed by veterinary staff
  • Coordinate with veterinary or training departments as needed
  • Handle minor staff or animal incidents and escalate serious issues to the kennel manager
  • Support emergency procedures and facility safety protocols

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in animal care a plus
  • 1–3 years of experience in a kennel, animal shelter, or veterinary setting
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts
  • Comfortable handling dogs of various sizes and temperaments
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, and stand for long periods

Working Conditions:
