Job description

Senior Advisor Finance Business Partner Underground (Kennecott Utah Copper LLC, South Jordan, UT):
Build and embed cost governance and financial systems and processes. Lead month-end, forecast, and annual planning cycles. Lead Rio Tinto cost leadership best practices at underground. Provide financial insights for operational and strategic projects. Deliver accurate cost reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Actively participate in Underground team meetings and workshops as a trusted finance partner. Support ad hoc analysis and business cases within defined authority limits.
The Senior Advisor Finance Business Partner Underground position reports to 4700 Daybreak Parkway, South Jordan, Utah on a daily basis. Two days per week requires reporting to Kennecott Underground Mine Office at Bacchus Hwy, Herriman, Utah, 84096.
Telecommuting permitted up to 1 day per week.
Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or related field, and 8 years of related work experience in the mining industry and/or mining operations.
Must have 8 years of experience in each of the following:
  • Managing multiple concurrent projects, including scheduling, task prioritization, and meeting project deadlines; and
  • Using Microsoft Office, SAP, and Power BI.

Must have 5 years of experience in each of the following:
  • Financial analysis and modeling of projects and/or operations in the mining, oil and gas, or energy industries;
  • Aligning financial initiatives with the organization's strategic objectives in the mining sector;
  • Analyzing business and value chain data, including interpreting complex financial data and making recommendations to support business decisions;
  • Applying data-driven analysis to support decision-making, including synthesizing technical findings and presenting recommendations to stakeholders to guide project or product direction;
    and
  • Presenting complex financial or operational data to internal stakeholders.
