Job description

Position Summary

Keltec is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Planner to support our manufacturing and distribution operations. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules to ensure efficient workflow, on-time delivery, and alignment with customer demand. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and brings experience in manufacturing planning and ERP systems.

Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules based on demand, inventory levels, and capacity
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, purchasing, and distribution teams to ensure alignment across operations
  • Balance production efficiency with customer delivery requirements
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to address delays or changes
  • Ensure optimal utilization of labor, equipment, and materials

Inventory & Demand Alignment

  • Analyze demand forecasts, order trends, and inventory levels to ensure accurate planning
  • Partner with procurement to ensure raw materials are available to meet production schedules
  • Minimize stockouts and excess inventory through proactive planning and adjustments
  • Support cycle counting and inventory accuracy initiatives

ERP & Data Management

  • Maintain accurate production data, schedules, and order status in ERP system (NetSuite or similar)
  • Track key planning metrics such as on-time delivery, schedule adherence, and production output
  • Generate reports and provide insights to leadership on operational performance

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a key liaison between production, customer service, purchasing, and leadership teams
  • Communicate schedule changes, risks, and constraints clearly and proactively
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning processes and operational efficiency

Qualifications

Required

  • 3–5+ years of production planning or scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in a high-volume or fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of capacity planning and demand forecasting
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
