Job description

Kelly Science is seeking a Histology Scientist for a long term contract with a growing team located in Gaithersburg, MD.
 
Pay: $40-45/hour
Shift: Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pm
Employment Type: Full Time; Long term contract (Fully Benefited)
 
Job responsibilities include:
  • Perform histology and slide staining (including IHC, IF, multiplex, and ISH), and conduct tissue grossing, processing, embedding, and microtomy.
  • Accession and manage research samples and biobank database, ensuring compliance with HBS guidelines, GLP/GCLP regulations, and safety standards.
  • Digitize slides, evaluate image quality, and re-scan as needed; maintain lab equipment and shared spaces.
  • Analyze data, interpret results, document findings, and communicate effectively; contribute to scientific solutions, manuscript and patent preparation, and maintain precise technical documentation.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, laboratory technology, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience with tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and slide staining techniques (IHC, IF, ISH, multiplex).
  • Experience with digital slide imaging and analysis, including quality control and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of GLP and GCLP standards.
