Job description

Lab Technologist
In this role, you will work in a team on key process technology programs, optimizing and developing new process chemistry to support our ion exchange resin business. 
We are seeking candidates with industrial laboratory experience who are motivated to make a difference in our world.  Training in our core ion exchange resin technology will be provided.  This role will be part of the Process R&D group in the Water Solutions business and will be on-site at the DuPont Michigan Operations facility in Midland MI.  
The scope of this role includes:
•    Conducting work in the lab synthesizing and testing ion exchange resin products
•    Working with teams of scientists and engineers to deliver project goals
•    Analyzing data and presenting results, conclusions and recommendations to stakeholders and management
•    Managing a laboratory, including having primary responsibility for several pieces of process and analytical equipment as well as safety and procedural documentation
Required skills and experience:
•    Bachelor of science in chemistry, chemical engineering, or similar discipline
•    Two years or more experience in an industrial laboratory setting, which may include internship or co-op experience
•    Time management and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
•    Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence for effective work on project teams
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
•    Demonstrated understanding of working in compliance with safe operating procedures
Preferred skills and experience:
•    Experience with ion exchange resins
•    General experience in synthetic chemistry, including polymer and/or small molecule synthesis
•    Experience building and maintaining Swagelok®-based or equivalent laboratory equipment
•    Analytical experience such as HPLC, ion analysis, polymer characterization
