Polymer Concepts Technologies PBY, Inc. KRS Division dba Kaydon Ring amp; Seal (“KRS”) is responsible for Aerospace and Industrial applications. KRS has a customer portfolio that includes all major players in the Aerospace and Industrial industries. Our business is fully customer focused, with products specifically designed for an engine/airframe application and then produced in small quantities and small lots on highly flexible equipment. Extreme product range fragmentation, complex product design, very high-quality standards and traceability requirements are the peculiarity of KRS.
Job Summary
This CNC Programmer develops, tests and adjusts CNC Programs to produce precision aerospace parts. The CNC Programmer will work closely with engineers, machinists and quality to improve processes while maintaining and increasing efficiencies.
Essential Job Functions
  • Read technical drawings to CNC Program and set up the machines in accordance with these blueprints
  • Use computer software to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly
  • Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications
  • Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality
  • Consider tools required to cut materials and program machines accordingly
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise
  • Train employees on how to properly operate CNC machines and programs
  • Complete detail drawings utilizing current CAD technologies to request parts fabrication by machine shops. Uses computer assisted engineering and design software to write operating programs for equipment, to develop tooling designs and CNC programs for unique one of kind processes
  • Recommends to management methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment
  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential
  • Performs all duties with the highest regard for ethical conduct and respect for the individual, and within the obligations of the basic labor agreement
  • Comply with corporate, plant and third-party safety and environmental regulations to ensure a safe, legal and environmentally-friendly manufacturing process at all times
  • Develops and writes inspection records
  • Knowledgeable of machine controls and able to make offset adjustments
Additional Duties
  • Complete other duties to assist management team
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering Technology preferred and minimum three years related experience and training
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to ITAR Compliance
  • Requires strong knowledge of machinery and experience in lathes, mills, grinders, and modern machining
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM systems required. SPC experience required. CNC controls and programming experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to write reports, procedure manuals, and operating manuals
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Ability to effectively present information to plant management and executive management
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret customer specifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to organize and prioritize work
  • Time management skills to ensure that administrative tasks are completed
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally
Work Environment
  • Regular on-site presence at Hanover, PA location
  • Work is performed in an office environment while supporting manufacturing and industrial environment
