Kamatics is seeking an Applications Engineer who is responsible for designing and developing bearing solutions that meet customer requirements while supporting productivity, quality, and cost objectives. This role partners closely with Sales, Engineering, and customers to deliver technical solutions and manage projects from concept through completion.

  • Design bearing solutions and create proposal drawings using CAD (3D modeling) to meet customer requirements for quality, cost, and delivery
  • Respond to customer technical inquiries and provide clear, accurate application guidance
  • Develop test plans and prepare reports for in-house bearing testing, as needed
  • Partner with Sales to define product requirements and support customer engagement
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate in customer discussions related to product design, applications, and performance
  • Develop and execute project plans for customer-specific and new product development initiatives
  • Collaborate with suppliers to gather technical and cost information; support cost estimates for new designs
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment in accordance with company policies
  • Contribute to process improvements and support 5S initiatives
  • Provide a high level of service to internal and external customers
  • Perform other duties as assigned and support cross-functional activities
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Metallurgical, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred

Experience:

  • 0โ€“5 years of experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with close tolerances and CAD software required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in technical work
  • Proficiency in CAD, including 3D solid modeling
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints; experience with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers)
  • Understanding of testing methods and procedures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation abilities
  • Customer-focused, dependable, and team-oriented
  • Self-starter with ability to drive tasks to completion
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent sitting and computer use
