Position Overview:

We are looking for dedicated and experienced Veterinary Technicians, ideally with a focus in either Dentistry or Anesthesia/Analgesia. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering specialized dental services, ensuring the highest standard of care for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

Anesthesia/Analgesia:

  • Work with the Veterinary Dentists to develop a comprehensive plan for anesthesia induction and maintenance while ensuring the vitals of the patient are closely monitored.
  • Ensure patients are comfortable in a stress-free environment and be an active participant in monitoring them for signs of discomfort; recommend pain management as needed.
  • Operate and maintain anesthesia vaporizers, breathing circuits, scavenge system and patient monitors.
  • Assist with training of other technicians.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of procedures.

Dentistry:

  • Collaborate closely with our Veterinary Dentist to plan and execute advanced dental procedures on dogs and cats.
  • Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and polishing.
  • Operate and maintain dental radiography equipment, ensuring the highest quality diagnostic images.
  • Operate and maintain compressor-driven dental unit and associated high- and low-speed handpieces.
  • Set up and maintain surgical unit and associated handpieces & tips.
  • Educate clients on the importance of dental health and post-procedure care.
  • Assist with training of other technicians.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of dental procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Desire to practice high quality medicine that positively impacts patients
  • Certified Veterinary Technician Specialist in Dentistry or Anesthesia/Analgesia (preferred)
  • Licensed in the state of California as a Registered Veterinary Technician (required)
  • Proven experience in veterinary dentistry or anesthetic procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to educate and communicate effectively with clients.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and be self-motivated.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Open to learning and expanding technical skills.
  • Leadership or Management Skills are not required, but are a plus.
