Valid North Carolina teaching license in Special Education: EC General Curriculum (K-12) or Cross-Categorical (K-12) - North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, Valid teaching license in Special Education: EC General Curriculum (K-12) or Cross-Categorical (K-12) - North Carolina Department of Public Instruction
Experience We're Looking For:
Experience working with children/adolescents with a mental health diagnosis and/or substance use disorder | 1 year | Required

Valid teaching license in Special Education: EC General Curriculum (K-12) or Cross-Categorical (K-12)

Other Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge related to IEP development and special education compliance, behavioral strategies and trauma-informed education

Job Description Summary:
The primary responsibilities of the Academic Teacher, Crisis Services is to provide consistent, individualized education that ensures students continue making academic progress while also supporting their emotional, behavioral and therapeutic needs.
What You'll Do:
  • Deliver academic instruction aligned with state standards and/or students' IEPs/504 plans
  • Support social-emotional and behavioral needs of students served
  • Complete documentation timely and accurately
  • Develop and implement IEP plans as needed utilizing testing and assessment data
  • Maintain student records in alignment with regulatory procedures
  • Assist with reintegration into home schools
  • Maintain training as required and requested
  • Complete all other relevant responsibilities assigned by the supervisor
  • Driving and travel may be required
