JWCC stands for Joint Warfighting Cloud Capability, which is a cloud computing initiative by the U.S. Department of Defense. JWCC provides secure, enterprise-scale cloud services to support military operations and data storage across all branches of the military. The goal of JWCC is to enable secure access to data and advanced computing resources at all classification levels, both in the United States and globally. Major cloud providers, including Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Oracle, participate in delivering these services. JWCC replaces previous single-vendor approaches to ensure flexibility and resilience.

Job description

This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt position that reports to the Director of Admissions and is located at the JWCC campus in Quincy, Illinois. Position begins immediately.

JOB DESCRIPTION

John Wood Community College (JWCC) is seeking an outgoing and goal-driven Admissions Recruiter to connect with prospective students and guide them through the admissions process. The Admissions Recruiter will be responsible for recruiting prospective students, promoting JWCC's academic programs, and assisting applicants through the admissions process. The Admissions Recruiter focuses on prospective high school and adult students and requires strong communication and relationship-building skills to engage with students, parents, high school counselors, and community organizations. This role focuses on building relationships, increasing enrollment, and promoting JWCC programs and resources.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build relationships with prospective students and their families through various communication channels, including in-person visits, phone calls, emails, social media platforms, high school visits, college fairs, community events, and other outreach activities.
  • Provide information and guidance about JWCC programs, admissions requirements, and financial aid options to prospective students and families.
  • Assist students through the application process, guiding them from inquiry to enrollment.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with high school counselors, community partners, and other local organizations to promote JWCC and its programs and to enhance recruitment efforts.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of on-campus recruitment events such as open houses, campus tours, and information sessions to showcase JWCC and its programs.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other departments to ensure a seamless admission process for students.
  • Work with the Admission Team to develop and execute recruitment plans to meet enrollment goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress through the admissions process.
  • Stay current on trends in higher education and community college admissions practices, enrollment management, and career development.
  • Manage an assigned recruitment territory, taking ownership of enrollment goals through strategic outreach, relationship building, and consistent follow-up to meet or exceed enrollment targets.
  • Support the Admissions Team with some evening and weekend flex hours scheduled events in advance.
  • Adapt responsibilities during peak times to support the Pathways Office and meet student needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Associate's degree required; bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Experience in admissions, recruitment, sales, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and knowledge of the community college system is a plus.
  • Preference will be given to those with a proven background in customer service, sales experience, and an ability to track and meet goals.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to large and small groups.
  • Ability to build rapport and establish relationships with prospective students, parents, and community partners.
  • Strong sales and marketing skills, with the ability to meet or exceed enrollment goals.
  • Knowledge of career counseling and the ability to guide students in exploring career options.
  • Familiarity with educational programs, admissions processes, and financial aid resources.
  • High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and social media platforms.
  • Excels in customer service and similar fields.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time position with a typical schedule of Monday-Thursday (8am โ€“ 5pm) and Friday (8am โ€“ 12pm).
  • Occasional evenings and weekends may be required to support student programs or events.

SALARY:

  • This is an exempt position with an estimated staring annual base starting salary of $36,000.
