Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD) staff couple the latest in information system technologies, such as elastic compute clouds, containerization, microservices, real-time operating systems, and visualization frameworks, with expertise in cyber security, software architecture, software engineering, data science, Artificial Intelligence, process improvement, and software development to deliver responsive, resilient, high-performance software intensive systems to our Intelligence Community, DoD, and civilian customers. Aerospace's Cyber Security and Advanced Platforms Subdivision is seeking a Secure Hybrid Cloud Architect to work across programs in various phases, from in acquisition through sustainment, finding least cost and technically sound engineering designs which support mission requirements. The selected candidate will utilize their software expertise, data architecture, security, and leadership skills to see the engineering designs from concept development and stakeholder buy-in through implementation and test. This position is 100% onsite , located in San Antonio, TX. What You'll Be Doing * Leading a large multi-phased project for DAF CLOUDworks in partnership with System Delta 81, System Delta 85, Operational Test and Training Infrastructure and stakeholders in hybrid cloud architectures
* Hands on management of projects and cyber related deliveries in Government Owned Cloud environments like DAF CLOUDworks, JWCC, Platform One or others as defined.
* Interface between program customers to capture requirements, internal Aerospace technical resources to execute and deliver on objectives and relay insight and updates to Aerospace leadership on customer issues, risks, and opportunities.
* Applying skills and adaptability in various areas as a senior technical authority that may include resolution of software systems issues. Support may include software development, software architectures, data strategies, data security and synchronization, enterprise systems, technology recommendations, secure cloud and virtualization deployments, microservices and API development.
* Identifying exciting and innovative opportunities for adopting new technologies to solve existing needs and predicting future challenges. * Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with customer leadership, capability-delivering contractors, ETG and other program office support organizations, including the creation of technical materials and the ability to present to key stakeholders and senior leaders.
* Interfacing with Cloud program office management and authorization officials at 16th AF and effectively working in a "badge-less" environment of diverse contracting teams.
* Conduct engineering studies, readiness reviews, technology planning and insertion; performance assessments, and/or market research. What You Need to be Successful - Senior Project Engineer Minimum Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in STEM, with major in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related technical discipline. * 10+ years of related software experience, including at least 2 years in software architecture for software intensive systems; experience in the space systems domain preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to create and build effective team dynamins/environments (ie government customers, contractors, and Aerospace personnel) and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
* Experience using cloud-based platform work such as AWS, Oracle, Google or Azure.
* Proven hands on experience with cloud based Kubernetes frameworks.
* Demonstrated ability working with Red Hat or other Linux Operating Systems.
* Hands on experience with VMware products such as Cloud Foundation, Tanzu Kubernetes.
* Willing to travel occasionally to work location or customer site approx. 10% (as required) * Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and work related to ISSM, ISSO, ISSE areas of cyber security
* This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance. How You Can Stand Out It would be impressive if you have one or more of these: * Current TS/SCI with the ability to obtain SAP clearances, which is issued by the US government. US citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
* Advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely related technical discipline
* Familiarity with military space systems and operational concepts
* Experience in JIRA, Confluence and RMF tools like XACTA or eMASS
* Experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, and or Azure Policy
