Job description

Provide supervision and oversight of the Family Law Unit and its supervisors, attorneys, and legal assistants
Provide direct legal representation and legal counseling to low-income community members and survivors of domestic violence
Handle Family Court and Supreme Court representation, including divorce and family offense cases, court appearances, and appeals
Conduct community outreach, education, and training
Serve as liaison for Family Law grants and attend grant-related meetings
Manage daily program operations, workflow, procedures, staff assignments, meetings, and vacation schedules
Coordinate attorney ex parte expectations and schedules
Oversee the Uncontested Divorce Program and the Rochester-Monroe County Domestic Violence Consortium Coordinator
Supervise assigned county program documents, invoices, and billing
Collaborate with Legal Aid directors, supervisors, management, legal service providers, and community agencies
Review cases for conflicts and financial eligibility and maintain intake procedures
Develop staff allocations and ensure grant deliverables are met by staff and sub-grantees
Prepare grant reports, quarterly narrative reports, program statistics, funding proposals, and program development materials
Recruit, train, coach, mentor, and manage performance of program staff
Set goals, delegate work, monitor progress, resolve escalated issues, and conduct performance reviews
Approve timecards, manage time-off requests, participate in hiring and onboarding, and maintain a staff training program
