NC - COR - Specialist- Junior

Location: Raleigh, NC

Client: State of NC

This is an onsite position.

The Enterprise IT End User Computing Engineer position has the primary task to architect and troubleshoot all endpoint related systems and software for the City of Raleigh. This includes PC, MAC, and Mobiles. Working with other members of the IT team, as well as other departments around the city, this position will implement, innovative and advanced client management solutions to the City of Raleigh’s infrastructure. Additionally, this position will perform internal team training on endpoint related systems, perform on-going maintenance and management of the systems, including planned obsolescence, upgrades, troubleshooting incidents, analyzing problems, and monitoring systems for performance. This position reports to the Enterprise IT Operations Manager in the City of Raleigh Information Technology Department.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Engineer, test, deploy, and manage client images for Windows workstations/VDI and macOS.
  • Manage, maintain, and evolve enterprise client management systems InTune, SCCM and JAMF.
  • Installation, evaluation, automation, and problem resolution of endpoint clients and release management deployments.
  • Design, build, deploy, and troubleshoot virtual desktops on VMware Horizon.
  • Lead the analysis of issues/problems and development of technical solutions as it relates to InTune, SCCM, JAMF, and VMware Horizon.
  • Installation and administration of security updates for endpoints.
  • Assists in ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • Produce system/client metrics for analysis.
  • Perform or assist in testing of product updates prior to deployment into production.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems and respond to escalated requests for technical assistance.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of new technologies as it pertains to Windows, macOS, Apple iOS, and Android software deployments, security patches, etc.
  • Develop and maintain process/procedure documents as well as documentation for troubleshooting end-point deployment issues.

Education and Experience:
  • Associate’s Degree in information technology or directly related field and two years of related technology support experience focused in converged endpoint management.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
