POSITION OVERVIEW 

As a member of the software developer team, you will join an incredibly talented and hardworking IT department dedicated to software development to advance BakerRipley's impact in the Houston region.  

Reporting to the Director of Web & Applications, the Junior Software Developer is responsible for Design, develop code, test and maintain websites and applications based on per-defined requirements for programs, functions, services, using advanced programming languages as part of a team and/or individually to support business initiatives as directed by IT management 

EXPECTED POSTIVE OUTCOMES 

  • Ability to work with developers and stakeholders in an agile environment on a given project. 
  • Ability to build, enhance, and maintain in-house web sites, databases, web applications as well as third-party applications/systems/tools used by BakerRipley. 
  • Confidently writes SQL statements and possesses knowledge of various database access methods. 
  • Knowledge of the project life cycle 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Builds, enhances, and maintains in-house web sites, databases, web applications as well as third-party applications/systems/tools as assigned. 
  • Would be able to work with limited or sometimes no specifications. 
  • Adheres to coding standards defined by technical management. 
  • Write SQL statements and develop software using .NET framework 
  • Performs other duties as assigned 
  • Complies with all policies and standards

EDUCATION 

Bachelor's Degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university, required 

EXPERIENCE 

1-3 years related experience, required 

COMPUTER/ SYSTEMS/ SOFTWARE PROFICIENCY:   

  • Web development experience using ASP.NET MVC, C#, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery and Bootstrap 
  • Good understanding of database development using Microsoft SQL Server 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure DevOps Server (TFS) 
  • Familiarity with REST API Services
