Job Summary

Alys Beach is seeking a Racquets Sports Professional to provide exceptional tennis and pickleball experiences for homeowners and rental guests. This role will provide instruction, support racquet sports programming, and deliver outstanding service as part of the ZUMA team.

First day medical benefits and company profit sharing. $1,000 sign-on bonus for this position.

Job Responsibilities
  • The position reports to the Alys Beach Director of Racquet Sports.
  • Assist the homeowners and rental guests with all tennis and pickleball needs and ensure racquet policies are being followed.
  • Teach private and/or group tennis/pickleball lessons/drills.
  • Promote tennis and pickleball clinics, exhibitions, private lessons, adult, and junior programs.
  • Responsible for assisting with planning and executing Homeowner Socials. 
  • Must be able to interact with Member/Guests professionally, helping them with changes and last-minute requests as needed.
  • Be a leader and a role model to all employees.
  • Maintain courts in a professional manner and ensure that the environment is safe for all of those who use the facility.
  • Inspect and maintain all courts daily.
  • Work effectively with all ZUMA team members to provide the best possible overall experience for homeowners and guests.
  • Possess a positive attitude at all times.
  • Be motivated to produce results and first-class racquet sport experiences.
  • Display an unwavering commitment to the Alys Beach racquet sport program and ZUMA Wellness Center.
Job Requirements
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language.
  • Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Extensive knowledge of Tennis and Pickleball Operations.
  • Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, accounting program, Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Ability to learn software (Pacesetter/ Jonas), interactive calendar, registration processes, policies and procedures, equipment, material, products, etc.
  • Must record daily teaching hours and confirm applicable charges with ZUMA Front Desk staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal and sales-related skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to maintain a calm professional demeanor during periods of stress.
  • Tasks are performed mainly outdoors.
  • Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Must have the ability to perform moderate physical work and may be required to lift up to 50 lbs., up to 30 lbs. frequently, and up to 20 lbs. constantly.
  • Perform activities such as bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, lifting, and grasping for up to 5 hours without sitting.
  • Must be able to work early mornings/late afternoon, including weekends.
  • Professional and/or collegiate playing experience preferred.
  • College Education - Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • RSPA Certification / Pickleball Certification preferred.
  • 2-3+ years of private club/country club experience preferred.
Essential Job Function
  • Strong playing skills, 4.5+ rating preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
