Torch Technologies is seeking a Junior Test Engineer (Electrical/Automated Test Systems) to join our team and support reverse engineering and test development for Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) used on weapons platforms. This role focuses on analyzing electronic hardware, developing test strategies, and supporting validation and sustainment of fielded systems through hands-on testing and automation.

As a Junior Test Engineer, your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Analyze LRUs to identify electrical interfaces, signals, and functional behaviors

  • Reverse engineer electronic circuits to determine operational characteristics and test requirements

  • Develop detailed test plans and procedures to validate analog, digital, power, and communication interfaces

  • Define stimulus and measurement strategies required to verify LRU functionality

  • Perform hands-on electronics testing using laboratory instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, power supplies, and data acquisition systems

  • Support development of automated test procedures using PXI-based automated test systems

  • Integrate COTS instrumentation including PXI/PXIe modules, switching systems, programmable power supplies, and measurement equipment

  • Assist in development and execution of test sequences using automated test frameworks

  • Perform fault isolation and troubleshooting of electronic assemblies during testing activities

  • Document test procedures, results, and engineering findings to support sustainment and technical data packages

  • Support hardware/software integration, debugging, and validation within lab environments

  • Collaborate with electrical, software, and systems engineers to ensure accurate test coverage and system integration

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in electronic testing, test engineering, or related field

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active secret clearance.

  • Experience with electronic circuit analysis and hands-on electronics testing

  • Experience developing or executing test procedures for electronic assemblies or LRUs

  • Familiarity with automated test systems or electronic test instrumentation

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience working in defense, aerospace, or engineering environments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting DoD or Federal programs

  • Experience with PXI/PXIe automated test systems

  • Programming or test development experience with C#, LabVIEW, or NI TestStand

  • Experience integrating software and hardware in automated test environments

  • Experience with switching systems and automated measurement equipment

  • Familiarity with ATE interconnect solutions

  • Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools

  • Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams and lab-based environments
