Overview
VTG is looking for a Systems Engineer - Requirements Management in Chantilly, VA. (Note: Contingent upon program award).
Junior Systems Engineer - Requirements Management supports NRO programs by assisting in requirements management activities across the system lifecycle. This role focuses on requirements documentation, traceability, and change support while working under the direction of senior engineers and government stakeholders.
Mid-Level Systems Engineer - Requirements Management independently performs requirements management functions for NRO programs. This role translates mission and stakeholder needs into well-defined, traceable requirements and ensures requirements integrity across system development, integration, and lifecycle activities.
Senior Systems Engineer - Requirements Management serves as the requirements management authority for NRO programs, responsible for governing requirements development, change control, and traceability across complex systems and system-of-systems environments. This role provides senior-level oversight and advises government leadership on requirements integrity, risk, and lifecycle readiness.
What will you do?
Junior Systems Engineer - Requirements Management
  • Assist with requirements elicitation, documentation, and organization
  • Support development and maintenance of requirements baselines
  • Maintain requirements traceability between mission needs, system requirements, and lower-level requirements
  • Support configuration control and change documentation activities
  • Assist with preparation for technical and lifecycle reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR)
  • Maintain requirements artifacts and supporting documentation in government tools

Mid-Level Systems Engineer - Requirements Management
  • Lead requirements elicitation, analysis, and decomposition
  • Develop and maintain system and segment requirements baselines
  • Ensure bi-directional traceability across requirements levels
  • Evaluate requirement impacts due to scope, mission, or technical changes
  • Support lifecycle and readiness reviews from a requirements perspective
  • Interface directly with government stakeholders to clarify and refine requirements

Senior Systems Engineer - Requirements Management
  • Lead end-to-end requirements management strategy across programs or mission areas
  • Establish and enforce requirements governance, standards, and processes
  • Oversee requirements allocation, traceability, and change control across complex efforts
  • Assess requirements maturity and risk during lifecycle and readiness reviews
  • Advise government leadership on requirements impacts, gaps, and dependencies
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on requirements best practices
  • Serve as the primary interface for requirements-related technical reviews and audits
