Job description

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus 6 months of relevant experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES

As a Cybersecurity Systems Engineer, you will help design and implement cybersecurity capabilities for mission-critical U.S. Navy systems. This role is well suited for a systems engineer who is ready to take greater ownership of technical work, expand their cybersecurity expertise, and contribute throughout the systems engineering lifecycle.

You will work with a collaborative Agile team to translate customer needs and security controls into effective system solutions. Your work will directly support the security, resilience, and accreditation of systems important to our nation’s defense.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design cybersecurity capabilities that meet Navy requirements and address evolving threats.
  • Analyze existing systems, engineering documentation, and development processes.
  • Conduct cybersecurity threat analyses and risk assessments.
  • Translate government requirements and security controls into clear, verifiable system requirements.
  • Maintain requirements traceability throughout the engineering lifecycle.
  • Develop and review systems engineering and accreditation documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, test, logistics, cybersecurity, and program teams.
  • Support Authorization and Accreditation activities with customers and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate technical findings, risks, and recommendations to technical and nontechnical audiences.

  • Exposure to ICD 503, NIST SP 800-53, the DoD Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG), or the DoD 8500 series.
  • Experience with threat analysis, risk assessment, or accreditation support.
  • Strong technical writing skills and experience producing clear, accurate engineering documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate across engineering disciplines.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
