Job description

Responsibilities & Qualifications

The TekSynap is seeking a Junior Enterprise Architect . The Senior Systems Analyst serves as Key Personnel under the NSWCDD Corporate IT Services contract. This position provides advanced systems analysis, business process modeling, and architecture support for Navy enterprise IT systems. The Senior Systems Analyst ensures that system designs, integrations, and upgrades align with Department of Defense (DoD) and Navy enterprise architecture standards, and contributes to the effective management and modernization of mission-critical IT systems. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

Experience

  • Minimum of six (6) years of professional experience in system analysis, business process reengineering, and systems implementation in DoD or Navy environments. 
  • Experience with DoDAF, system architecture tools (e.g., IBM System Architect), and requirements management systems. 

  • Deep understanding of DoD systems engineering lifecycle, system testing, and database management principles. 

Certifications

  • Must meet DoD IAT Level III certification requirements. 

Clearance

  • Clearance Level: Secret Clearance (T5 investigation) 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Perform detailed analysis, design, and implementation of business and technical requirements for Navy IT systems. 
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, requirements traceability matrices, and design specifications. 
  • Support system integration and testing activities to validate business process and functional requirements. 
  • Utilize DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) tools (e.g., IBM System Architect) to model and maintain enterprise architectures. 
  • Collaborate with engineers, system administrators, and cybersecurity personnel to ensure system designs are compliant with RMF and Navy directives. 
  • Analyze, plan, and develop technical and operational improvements across IT domains. 
  • Conduct performance assessments and recommend configuration optimizations to enhance system efficiency. 
  • Participate in technical meetings, architecture reviews, and risk assessments. 
  • Support documentation and presentation of system requirements, design findings, and solutions to leadership and customers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Location: Onsite at NSWCDD Dahlgren, VA (limited hybrid flexibility may be considered) 
  • Type of environment: Office and technical lab environments   
  • Noise level: Medium  
  • Work schedule: Onsite with standard NSWCDD core hours (0800-1700), Monday through Friday. 
  • Amount of Travel: Approximately 10-15% for coordination and review activities at other Navy sites (Dan Neck, Norfolk, Quantico, San Diego).
