Job Description Jr. Tools Monitoring Analyst - SolarWinds Location: Downtown Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid/Onsite) Position Type: Contract-to-Hire Overview A growing financial services organization is seeking a Jr. Tools Monitoring Analyst with hands-on SolarWinds experience to support enterprise monitoring, alerting, and performance management.

This role plays a key part in maintaining system uptime, proactively detecting issues, and supporting rapid incident response across network and infrastructure environments. The ideal candidate will have practical experience with monitoring tools, a solid understanding of network and server performance metrics, and exposure to ITIL-aligned incident management practices. Key Responsibilities Monitor enterprise infrastructure and network systems using SolarWinds modules such as NPM, SAM, NTA, and others.

Configure and maintain monitoring alerts, thresholds, and dashboards for optimal visibility. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for system, network, and application issues. Collaborate with Network, Systems, and Security teams to troubleshoot and resolve incidents.

Tune monitoring tools to reduce false positives and improve alert accuracy. Support ITIL-aligned incident management processes and documentation. Generate reports on system health, uptime, and performance trends for management.

Assist with monitoring tool upgrades, integrations, and ongoing optimization efforts. Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience in IT monitoring, NOC operations, or tools engineering. Hands-on experience with SolarWinds (NPM, SAM, or equivalent modules).

Knowledge of network monitoring protocols and technologies (SNMP, NetFlow). Familiarity with Windows and Linux server monitoring. Understanding of infrastructure performance metrics and monitoring best practices.

Experience in a 24/7 monitoring or NOC environment. Familiarity with incident management platforms such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or similar. Preferred Qualifications Experience with additional monitoring or observability tools (Dynatrace, Splunk, Datadog).

Scripting or automation skills (PowerShell, Python). Exposure to cloud monitoring solutions (AWS, Azure). ITIL certification or hands-on experience with ITSM frameworks.
