The Systems Analyst's role is to plan, design, develop, and launch efficient information systems and operations systems in support of core organizational functions. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve systems issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.

Job Description

Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business system requirements and system goals.
Identify and resolve business systems issues.
Ensure compatibility and interoperability of business systems.
Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
Conduct research on hardware and software products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
Create business system design proposals.
Create system models, specifications, diagrams and charts to provide direction to system configuration.
Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
Provide input on documentation that will be used for training technical staff on all modified and new systems.
Assist in building Run Books for hardware and software deployments.
Collaborate with project sponsors and project leads to determine project scope and vision.
Clearly identify project stakeholders and establish user classes, as well as their characteristics.
Conduct interviews to gather user requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.
Identify and establish scope and parameters of requirements analysis on a project-by-project basis to define project impact, outcome criteria, and metrics.
Perform cost-benefit and return on investment (ROI) analyses for proposed changes to aid management in making implementation decisions.
Participate in the development and management of project plans related to application development initiatives, from project planning and design through testing, implementation and maintenance.
Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements-gathering processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.
Develop use cases, test plans and perform testing and quality analysis in project execution.
Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new business systems and enhancements to existing systems.
Liaise with various business groups in the organization to facilitate implementation of new or improved business processes.
Work with stakeholders and project team for Change Management process.

Qualifications

College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, finance, or information systems.
Three to five years related work experience.
Proven experience with technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development.
Proven experience in overseeing the design, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
Working knowledge of current network hardware, protocols and standards.
Ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly language.
Exceptional analytical and statistical skills with the ability to apply them to systems issues and products as required.
Good project management skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent listening and interpersonall skills.
Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required
Keen attention to detail.
Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
