Job description

Location: Work can be done remotely from the US

No third-party agency submissions. Agencies, please do not call or email. Independent C2C candidates only.

KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for a Sr. iOS Engineer: Swift/SwiftUI, GraphQL / AppSync / AWS for B2C apps; AI 1st culture

This organization supports millions of users navigating health journeys, delivering a highly scaled, consumer-facing platform focused on communication, care coordination, and community. With a lean, high-performing engineering team and modern cloud-based architecture (AWS, serverless, GraphQL), the company is continuing to invest in its mobile experience, performance, and feature velocity

You will contribute iOS software engineering in Swift and SwiftUI to enhance, extend, and maintain a production iOS application currently in the App Store, serving a large and active user base.
Working within cross-functional Agile scrum teams, you will contribute to design discussions; implement prototypes for feedback; research and integrate third-party technologies; and deliver high-quality production code. This role is heavily focused on new feature development, while also contributing to ongoing improvements in test coverage, performance, and architecture.
You will collaborate closely with product managers, backend engineers, and QA, operating as a fully embedded team member. The environment is highly collaborative, fast-moving, and team-centric, with strong emphasis on communication, code quality, and continuous improvement.
This is a full-time contract role (40 hours/week), open-ended in duration with potential for long-term engagement or conversion based on business needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Expertly develop the iOS mobile application using Swift and SwiftUI, delivering high-quality, scalable, and performant code.
  • Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to translate user stories and business requirements into intuitive mobile experiences.
  • Contribute to architectural discussions, including application structure, performance optimization, and technical decision-making (with opportunity to influence and improve existing architecture).
  • Implement prototypes and iterate quickly based on feedback in an Agile environment.
  • Work extensively with GraphQL APIs (via AWS AppSync) to integrate and manage data across mobile and backend systems.
  • Evaluate and integrate third-party SDKs and libraries (e.g., AWS SDKs, Apollo), ensuring performance and maintainability.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing feedback and helping maintain high engineering standards.
  • Write unit tests and contribute to improving overall test coverage; partner with QA on broader testing strategy.
  • Contribute to CI/CD processes and deployment pipelines as part of the shared engineering responsibility model.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, performance issues, and production incidents.
  • Support performance optimization efforts (startup time, responsiveness, memory usage) in a consumer-facing application at scale.
  • Mentor junior developers where applicable and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute documentation, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Experience and Technical Qualifications
  • Strong experience building or supporting consumer-facing applications at scale (App Store presence or equivalent strongly preferred).
  • 5+ years developing iOS mobile applications using Swift and SwiftUI (required; 100% SwiftUI environment).
  • Strong expertise in the iOS ecosystem, including app lifecycle, performance optimization, and modern UI development patterns.
  • Familiarity with modern iOS architecture patterns (MVVM, etc.) is preferred but flexible.
  • Experience integrating third-party SDKs and APIs required
  • Hands-on experience working with GraphQL APIs (depth preferred, including schema understanding, performance considerations, and caching strategies).
  • Experience with AWS infrastructure, particularly AppSync, strongly preferred; familiarity with serverless components (Lambda, DynamoDB, Kinesis) is a plus.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted development tools and workflows is a plus; interest in leveraging AI to improve development productivity is expected.
  • Strong experience with unit testing and test automation practices (XCTest or similar).
  • Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional scrum teams.
  • Experience with performance tuning, debugging, and production support.
  • Experience deploying code to CI/CD pipelines and shared deployment processes.

Compensation depends on experience but is typically around $55/hr W2; some flexibility for C2C (though no 3rd party firm candidates are welcome).
