As a Senior Engineer, you serve as a specialist in the engineering team that supports the product. You help develop and gain insight in the application architecture. You can distill an abstract architecture into concrete design and influence the implementation. You show expertise in applying the appropriate software engineering patterns to build robust and scalable systems. You are an expert in programming and apply your skills in developing the product. You have the skills to design and implement the architecture on your own, but choose to influence your fellow engineers by proposing software designs, providing feedback on software designs and/or implementation. You show good problem solving skills and can help the team in triaging operational issues. You leverage your expertise in eliminating repeat occurrences.

The Contextually Aware PDP team is taking product details to the next level by architecting a dynamic product detail page ideal for the numerous combinations of guest preferences, product shopping categories, and multiple other inputs to create the perfect display page. This includes all aspects of presentation, from purchase options to image presentation.

As a Senior iOS Engineer on the Flagship mobile team you will:

Build guest-facing features using the Swift programming language, leveraging modern Apple frameworks like UIKit and SwiftUI for rich, responsive UI experiences.

Develop on The Composable Architecture (TCA), alongside thoughtfully designed in-house patterns tailored to our scale.

Develop clean, well-testednativeiOScode to deliver functionality that meets business objectives.

Improve code structure and architecture in service of testability, observability and maintainability

Work closely with partner teams - Business, UX, Product - as needed

Perform complex engineering tasksindependently and collaboratively

Manage complex cross-teamcoordinationand dependencies

Evaluate and communicate different engineering solutions and trade-offs

We also embrace AI-assisted development and Generative AI tools to enhance productivity, creativity, and developer experience across our engineering teams. You'll have opportunities to experiment, innovate, and influence how Target engineers build the next generation of retail technology.

About You:

4 year degree or equivalent experience

5+ years of experience in software design & development

5+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years building and scaling iOS applications.

Strong proficiency in Swift, with the ability to write efficient, reusable, and maintainable code.

Deep understanding of native iOS tools and frameworks (SwiftUI, UIKit, Xcode, Instruments, etc.).

Experience with common iOS architectures such as MVVM, VIPER, or The Composable Architecture.

Demonstrated ability to design high-performance, scalable, and secure mobile solutions with measurable impact.

Skilled in debugging, performance tuning, and optimizing complex systems for reliability and responsiveness.

Comfortable working across large, shared codebases and contributing to long-term architectural direction.

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills; able to build trust and alignment across teams and stakeholders.

Demonstrates initiative and curiosity-proactively driving innovation and exploring emerging technologies.

Experience with deployment, package management, and CI/CD tools in production environments.

Designs effective testing strategies and resolves both routine and complex technical issues with minimal guidance.

Builds strong commitment within the team, supporting shared priorities and mentoring others toward technical excellence.

Stays current with evolving tools, frameworks, and industry trends through continuous learning and experimentation.

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target's needs.
