Cost Accountant III, IV or Senior Hybrid Role (3 days/week in office)

Locations: Portland, Medford, Fargo, Burlington, Vancouver, Renton, Boise, Lewiston, Salt Lake City. Candidates must reside within commutable distance of the selected office.

Qualifications
  • Accountant III: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business and 3‑5 years of relevant experience (or equivalent education/experience). CPA, CMA or MBA preferred.
  • Accountant IV: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business and 4+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent). CPA, CMA or MBA preferred.
  • Senior Accountant I: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business and 6+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent). CPA, CMA or MBA preferred.
Skills and Attributes
  • Analytical thinking, sound judgment, and ability to plan and organize own work.
  • Ability to work flexible hours during heavy workloads.
  • Proficiency with PC and mainframe software and systems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated application of accounting knowledge (GAAP, SAP, CAS, FAR, FEHBAR as applicable).

  • For Senior Accountant I: advanced accounting knowledge, strategic financial planning, process improvement, presentation to stakeholders, and mentorship of junior staff.
What You Will Do at Cambia
  • Prepare monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and major sections of corporate and subsidiary financial statements (GAAP and SAP).
  • Gather, validate, and summarize accounting and statistical data; prepare ad‑hoc analyses as requested.
  • Maintain allocation tables within the cost accounting system (labor distribution, organization structure, line of business).
  • Prepare and analyze administrative cost and budget reports; investigate budget variances at department, division, and line‑of‑business levels.
  • Handle miscellaneous invoicing, marketing incentive worksheets, and cross‑training on a variety of jobs.
  • Coordinate with other departments; provide reconciliations, schedules, and explanations to internal and external auditors; investigate unusual transactions.
  • Perform cost‑trend and allocation analysis; propose and implement updates to allocation tables; support re‑forecasts and budgeting.
  • Research and report on current and proposed accounting and auditing standards; present regular and ad‑hoc analysis to management.
  • Coordinate administration and operation of complex financial systems; participate in design, development, and testing of system updates and enhancements.
  • Mentor new team members on Cambia policies and provide support to AccountantsI andII.
  • For AccountantIV: provide financial assistance and support on corporate projects (mergers, system conversions, new product development); develop and revise financial policies and procedures; train and assist lower‑level Accountants with balance sheet account reconciliations and financial reports.
  • For Senior Accountant I: oversee preparation of audit schedules; investigate and resolve unusual transactions; work with internal and external auditors; supervise and train AccountantsI,II,III; coordinate monthly close; lead small projects and teams.
Work Environment

Primarily performed in an office environment with occasional overtime and outside normal business hours.

Salary Ranges

Accountant III (OR, WA, UT, ID): Hiring: $62,900 – $85,100; Full: $59,000 – $97,000; Bonus target: 5%.

Accountant IV (OR, WA, UT, ID): Hiring: $76,500 – $103,500; Full: $72,000 – $117,000; Bonus target: 10%.

Senior Accountant I (OR, WA, UT, ID): Hiring: $84,200 – $113,900; Full: $79,000 – $129,000; Bonus target: 10%.
