Job description

We are SLR Consulting (Americas), a 1500+ team of advisory, environmental, engineering, and regulatory professionals across Canada, the United States, and LATAM. We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients through the integration of over 30 advisory, technical environmental, and engineering disciplines to help clients address some of their most complex challenges around sustainability.

As our new Senior Civil Engineer, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.

Role

The Reno office of SLR provides a full range of professional services on a variety of challenging and unique projects that include geotechnical engineering, earthworks and grading, stormwater design, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, environmental remediation and construction quality monitoring primarily supporting projects within the mining industry.

The selected candidate will work under the supervision of a registered principal engineer and will mentor junior staff while directing their own projects and technical work flows to deliver on; design; analysis; and preparation of specifications, calculations, and technical reports for a wide variety of mining projects.

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $125,000. However, final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Nevada, or the ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Working knowledge of Engineering software including, but not limited to: Civil Design & Grading (Civil 3D)
  • Depending on area of specialization, specialty software to include: Hydrology & Hydraulics (HEC HMS, HEC RAS); or Geotechnical Design (GeoStudio, Rocscience)
  • Possess valid driver's license
  • Willing to travel by car and airplane, including travel for domestic projects
