Develops application software. Writing and implementing efficient code. Research, designs, develops and implements software applications and systems. Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards. Evaluates, designs, and implements interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, cloud offering, system architecture, security, and characteristics of overall system. Researching, designing, implementing, and managing software programs. Identifying areas for modification in existing programs and subsequently developing these modifications. Determining operational practicality. Documents testing, client experience, and maintenance of system corrections. May partner and collaborate with cyber security teams to ensure compliance with security standards. May develop and conduct unit tests.

Background/Need: Software and Electronics Engineering, is seeking an engineer to own ground support for satellite payload software and hardware.

Other information relevant to the job requirement?

This position is geared towards an EGSE (Electrical Ground Support Equipment Developer). This person will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to architect and implement ground support equipment and use the equipment to test complex systems spanning embedded software, firmware, and electronic hardware for mission-critical prototypes.

Position requirements are as follows:

  • High-level programming language (C#, Java, etc.)
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++
  • Scripting experience (COSMOS, Ruby, or similar)
  • XML
  • Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, waveform generators, spectrum analyzers and logic analyzers for integration and hardware debugging
  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree is in an Engineering field or Computer Science. If they do not have a degree in that space, they should have very strong applicable engineering experience in similar environments to the Lab.

Others:

  • Clearance: Interim clearance is sufficient to start. Secret Clearance or above is preferred. TS/SCI is highly preferred.
  • Work Location: Candidate should expect to 80% onsite.
  • Interview Process: Initial interview with team member, followed by an onsite interview with the team. The team will consider relocation candidates and will accommodate a Zoom.
