This role is located at NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center on Edwards Air Force Base, near Palmdale/Lancaster, CA. As a part of this team, you will be required to work a 9/80 schedule with typical hours of 7:30am-5:00pm. Responsibilities: * Provide Software Development and long-term Software O&M/Sustaining Support for the ARMD Test Data Portal (ATDP), including daily system health checks, capacity monitoring, user and permission management, storage management, and assistance with new feature development. * Recommend and implement authorized technical approaches for data management and integration solutions, such as seamless integration between systems, better performance/efficiency, security of intellectual property aspects, and technical innovations. * Provide problem resolution support for NASA users. * Manage software updates and security configurations for 3 rd party platforms and tools. * Track and update service tickets for user issues and internal system management tasks. * Mentor and train junior members of the team Requirements: * Requires Bachelor's degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent years of experience * 4 - 6 years of related software development/administration experience (minimum 2 years software development) * Active Security clearance, or ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance * Development experience with an object-oriented language, Java and/or C++ * Familiarity with software engineering best practices (including object-oriented analysis & design, service-oriented architectures (SOA), SOLID principles, design patterns, etc.) * Experience with requirements development, source control management, configuration management, bug tracking and other development tools. * Experience managing application security, to include encryption protocols, LDAP or Kerberos authentication, certificates, and OS/Application hardening * Ability to prioritize tasks to deliver project milestones and meet project deadlines * Strong communication/written skills and ability to communicate and collaborate with a diverse team of researchers and software developers. Desired Skills: * Strong understanding of DevOps and familiarity with DevOps tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins, Puppet, etc. * General knowledge of: * * Redhat Linux operating systems and software development. * Formal software development standards and processes (primarily Agile) - version control processes / container management software * Javascript & JQuery * Visual studio, Netbeans, or Eclipse * Atlassian tools (Jira, Bamboo, Bitbucket, Crucible, Fisheye) * XML * Web Services / Apache / Springboot * HDF5 file format * MongoDB * Cloud hosting and development (AWS, Azure, etc) We invest in the lives of our employees, both in and out of the workplace, by providing competitive pay and benefits packages.
