Join a high-impact technology team focused on transforming the digital experience for credit card customers. This team supports critical customer journeys across the credit card lifecycle, including onboarding, lost card services, and other customer-facing experiences.
Working within an Agile environment, the Software Developer will play a key role in designing, building, and modernizing applications that enhance customer interactions. While this is a full-stack position, the role is primarily backend-focused and will involve developing scalable APIs, contributing to microservices architecture, supporting production deployments, and mentoring junior engineers.   • Design, develop, test, and implement software solutions that support credit card customer journeys and digital experience modernization initiatives.
  • Build and enhance backend services using Java to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performing business applications.
  • Develop and maintain Spring-based applications and services to support enterprise-level customer-facing functionality.
  • Design, develop, and integrate REST APIs that enable seamless communication between customer-facing applications and backend systems.
  • Create and support microservices architectures to improve application scalability, flexibility, and maintainability.
  • Contribute to front-end enhancements using JavaScript to improve user experiences across digital channels.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to development standards, application quality, and best practices.
  • Lead troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization efforts across the application stack.
  • Support software deployments and production releases, including participation in scheduled monthly release activities that may require occasional evening or weekend support.
  • Collaborate with product owners, architects, and Agile team members to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, and operational procedures.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, helping elevate team capabilities and development practices.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java for backend application development and business logic implementation.
  • Strong experience with Spring and the Spring ecosystem for building scalable, secure, and maintainable applications.
  • Expertise developing Microservices architectures to support distributed, cloud-ready application environments.
  • Proven experience with API Development, including designing, building, testing, and supporting RESTful services.
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript to support front-end functionality and integration with backend services.
  • Experience participating in Agile software development teams, including sprint planning, development, testing, and release activities.
  • Strong understanding of software design principles, code quality standards, and application lifecycle management.
  • Experience conducting code reviews and providing technical leadership across development teams.
  • Ability to work in production support and release management environments, including scheduled deployment and release activities.
  • Experience with Angular for developing and enhancing modern web-based user interfaces.
  • Familiarity with Oracle databases, including working with data models, queries, and application integrations.
  • Additional experience in API Development and integration patterns across enterprise applications.
  • Banking, financial services, or credit card industry experience with an understanding of customer-facing transactions and servicing platforms.
  • Previous experience mentoring developers and contributing to technical best practices within Agile teams.
