Position Summary

The Mechanical Engineer III is a senior-level engineering professional responsible for leading the design, development, and execution of complex mechanical systems and structural assemblies used in electrical distribution products and modular power solutions. This role provides technical leadership, mentors junior engineers, and drives innovation, standardization, and continuous improvement across the engineering organization.


Essential Responsibilities

· Lead the design and development of complex mechanical components, enclosures, frames, and structural assemblies.

· Oversee projects from concept through production and customer delivery.

· Review and approve engineering drawings, bills of material, and design documentation.

· Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analyses, and design validation.

· Collaborate with Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to improve manufacturability and product performance.

· Support prototype builds, production issues, and engineering change management.

· Mentor Mechanical Engineers I and II and provide technical leadership.

· Participate in customer meetings and design reviews.

· Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, standardization, and cost reduction.

· Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

· 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience.

· Advanced proficiency with 3D CAD software.

· Experience leading engineering projects.

· Strong analytical and communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications

· Experience designing electrical enclosures or modular power systems.

· Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, welding, and machining.
