Security Systems Engineer
The Opportunity:
Support the government client's security operations mission. Perform the deployment, operation, administration, troubleshooting, updating, securing, and maintenance of systems, software, and infrastructure that enable enterprise cybersecurity capabilities. Operate, maintain, and administer existing network and systems architectures, including hardware, software, physical cabling, and IP address management. Support a broad range of technical environments and responsibilities, including networking and security devices, circuits, automated systems, servers, client computers, applications, databases, voice systems, help desk support, asset and inventory management, and field technical support.
You Have:
  • 3+ years of experience leading and coordinating security and infrastructure initiatives, including managing requirements, schedules, and deliverables and implementing security platforms
  • Experience with Armis platform for Cyber Asset Attack Surface Management and Elastic Stack for search, observability, and SIEM analytics
  • Experience designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting advanced scripting such as Bash, Perl, JavaScript, or Python, including command-line administration and O&M tasks
  • Ability to collaborate with security, infrastructure, and operations teams to design and implement automation that enhances operational effectiveness
  • Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize existing security infrastructure in partnership with server and network teams
  • Ability to provide strategic troubleshooting and guidance for information security systems, including improving and extending system capabilities
  • Ability to assess and enhance frameworks and stay up to date with modern security and automation technologies
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • HS diploma or GED and 12+ years of experience working in information security, or Bachelor's degree in CS, Information Security, or IT and 8+ years of experience working in information security
  • CISSP or CISM Certification

  • Experience supporting and optimizing infrastructure management and threat intelligence tools with seamless integration into existing security processes
  • Experience analyzing implementation requirements, modifying existing systems, and preparing specifications based on customer requests
  • Experience with documenting systems, configurations, processes, and service records in structured formats
  • Experience mentoring junior team members in technical best practices and problem solving
  • Knowledge of effective detail-oriented techniques
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex LAN/WAN, throughput, and networking issues

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $69,300.00 to $158,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
