Rincon Research Corporation (RRC), an employee-owned company, is seeking an Jr. Software Engineer to work in a multi-disciplinary R&D environment with similarly motivated electrical engineers, mathematicians, and analysts who are collectively responsible for creating custom digital signal processing solutions and leveraging them to make an operational mission impact.

What are the primary responsibilities in the Jr. Software Engineer position?


Core responsibilities include designing real-time cloud processing solutions, implementing advanced signal processing and geolocation algorithms with efficient software, testing with real data, and providing applications to front-line customer facilities. You create effective user interfaces and data visualization tools. A key responsibility is staying up-to-date with the latest technologies, tools, and methodologies and experimenting with new technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into RRC projects. RRC personnel can expect to work across all functional areas: systems engineering, development, integration and test, deployment and O&M, and experience the direct mission feedback from the customer and seeing your project provide real-world contributions that make a significant difference. You’re encouraged and expected to propose things that you believe will improve the applications and frameworks you’re working in. The ability to work unsupervised with minimal direction and the ability to self-start is a must.


What required background will make you successful?

  • Degree (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD) in Computer Engineering or Computer Science
  • Proficient in modern software engineering practices for testability and readability
  • Proficient in C++ and Python in LINUX environments
  • Demonstrated ability to design software systems to ensure they achieve functionality, performance, scalability, and maintainability requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance
  • US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED


Preferred skills: 

  • Agile development processes
  • DevOps and Cloud computing Experience (CI/CD, CVE mitigations, Docker, Kubernetes, PIP)
  • Hands-on experience developing or integrating AI/ML, LLM-powered, or agentic applications.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining web applications with REACT
  • Experience with Git based revision control systems
  • REST API design
  • Experience with developing GPU code using CUDA libraries
  • Familiarity with additional high-level languages (Shell Scripting, etc.) 
  • Current TS/SCI clearance

 

Where is the position located?

This position can be located at our Centennial, CO; Colorado Springs; Chantilly, VA offices or our Tucson, Arizona Headquarters.

*The likely salary range for this position is $98,000 to $123,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
