Position Summary

Modern Work Deployment Engineers focus directly on delivering IaaS and SaaS solutions for Red River Professional Services (RRPS) customers. The Red River Professional Services Modern Work team focuses on the design, implementation, and migration of robust, reliable, and secure cloud platform solutions. Cloud technologies play an increasingly integral part in the business outcomes of our customers, and it is our goal to support those outcomes.

As a Senior Microsoft 365 Deployment Engineer, your primary responsibility is to oversee the successful implementation and deployment of Microsoft 365 solutions for Red River customers. Your role involves working closely with clients and internal teams to understand their requirements, design appropriate solutions, and manage the deployment process from start to finish.

Primary Position Tasks
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze existing infrastructure, and design customized Microsoft 365 solutions that meet their business needs. This includes identifying appropriate Microsoft 365 components such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Intune, Purview, EntraID.
  • Develop comprehensive deployment plans that outline the necessary steps, timelines, and resources required to implement Microsoft 365 solutions effectively.
  • Lead the deployment process by executing the planned activities, including installation, configuration, and integration of Microsoft 365 components. This may involve migrating data from on-premises systems to the cloud, setting up security policies, managing user access, and configuring the Microsoft 365 stack.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues and challenges that arise during the deployment process. Troubleshoot problems related to network connectivity, application compatibility, data migration, and user access to ensure a successful deployment.
  • Provide training and support to customers’ end‑users, IT teams, and stakeholders on how to effectively utilize Microsoft 365 applications and features. Create documentation, user guides, and knowledge base articles to assist customers in adopting and maximizing the benefits of Microsoft 365.
  • Manage multiple deployment projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Coordinate with cross‑functional teams, communicate project progress, and elevate issues or risks when necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with Cloud Practice Sales Architects to deliver new Microsoft 365 service offerings.
  • Provide guidance and support to practice junior engineers by helping them understand the Microsoft 365 deployment process, best practices, and industry standards. Help solve complex technical challenges and encourage them to develop problem‑solving skills.
  • Set a positive example through your own work ethic, professionalism, and commitment to quality. Demonstrate best practices in Microsoft 365 deployment, project technical leadership, and communication.
  • Stay updated with the latest Microsoft 365 technologies, features, and best practices. Continuously evaluate and propose enhancements to existing deployments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and customer experience.
Minimum Education/Certification/Experience Requirements
  • 5-7 years of relevant professional experience in a large, diverse consulting environment.
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft 365 solutions, including hybrid architectures.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Intune, Defender for Endpoint, and Purview (Information Protection, Records Management, DLP).
  • Working knowledge of on‑premises architecture (Active Directory, Exchange Server, Certificate Services, Network Policy) and hybrid deployments.
  • Experience with Defender (Identity, Cloud Apps), Sentinel, Windows365, Power Platform a plus.
  • Hands‑on experience with migrations to Exchange Online (hybrid, tenant‑to‑tenant), workstation migrations to Intune/Autopilot, and SharePoint migrations (GCC/GCCHigh migrations greatly desired).
  • Desired Microsoft Certifications: MS‑102, MS‑500, MS‑700, SC‑300, SC‑400.
  • Technical proficiency including systems experience, strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills, and issue management in a multi‑platform cloud and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of governance best practices and frameworks: CMMC, GDPR, HIPAA, PCI‑DSS.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST800, ISO27000, CIS Benchmarks.
  • Deployment and operational experience with a variety of end‑user devices such as Windows, Apple, Android operating systems.
  • Hands‑on scripting experience with PowerShell, JSON, ADMX backed policy creation; KQL query language experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of GCC and GCCH a plus.
  • Experience using third‑party migration tools (BitTitan, Sharegate).
