Manufacturing Software Engineer

The Manufacturing Software Engineer is an entrylevel member of the Manufacturing Engineering team primarily focused on supporting the development, deployment, and maintenance of software applications used in daytoday manufacturing operations. Working closely with manufacturing and operations teams, this role helps support reliable production systems, improve efficiency, and enable datadriven manufacturing through software solutions, while also contributing to manufacturing software automation, data analytics, and AIenabled initiatives.

The position also can assist with new product introduction (NPI) activities as needed, providing exposure to how software supports the launch of new products within a diverse manufacturing environment.

As a Manufacturing Software Engineer, you will support daily production, improve manufacturing processes, and contribute to operational excellence. This role involves supporting modern and legacy manufacturing systems, implementing new software technologies, and utilizing automation and AI to enhance manufacturing performance.

As a Manufacturing Software Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Develop, modify, and maintain manufacturing software applications and tools across multiple system platforms

  • Apply AIenabled tools to assist with code development, automation, and manufacturing process improvements

  • Work handson with manufacturing data to support digitization, system integration, and large data set analysis

  • Partner directly with operators, technicians, and floor managers to deploy software solutions, verify functionality on the factory floor, and resolve realtime production issues

  • Provide handson software support across multiple manufacturing work centers and production systems

  • Test, document, and validate software changes to ensure reliable operation and maintain accurate records

  • Participate in thirdparty software reviews, perform code analysis, and support root cause and corrective action efforts

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Have Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and /or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or institution

  • Have 0 - 2 years' experience in software design, development, and application.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have familiarity with Git-based source control tools (e.g., GitHub)

  • Have experience using IDEs like Visual Studio

  • Have experience usingcollaborative development/project management tools like Azure DevOps and Agile/Scrum methodologies

  • Have strong proficiencyin C#, Vb.NET, SQL

  • Have hands-on experience building desktop applications with WinForms, WPF and XAML (MVVM experience strongly preferred)

  • Have understanding software development principles, version control, debuggingand test-driven development

  • Have experience or exposure to manufacturing execution systems (MES) such as SAP DM or similar manufacturing software platforms

  • Have experience with Microsoft Copilot or AIassisted development tools for code generation, productivity, or automation support

  • Have knowledge or Experience with Bently Nevada products, manufacturing processes procedures, development and or testing.

The annual pay scale for this position is between $62,310.00 - $115,510.00.

Candidates for this role (office-based/ hybrid/ remote) must be located in or near the locations displayed above. The pay range/scale displayed above represents Baker Hughes' good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum for this position at the time of this posting and applies to the possible locations for this position. Baker Hughes will issue a non-bias competitive offer; the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hires, full-time salaries in some U.S. locations, not including equity or benefits.
