Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to take on a leadership role in delivering innovative solutions across a diverse range of projects. In this position, you will be instrumental in producing high-quality technical documents and maintaining excellent client relations by setting clear expectations. Collaboration across various disciplines is key, as is supporting business development initiatives and fostering a team-oriented approach to project execution.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and implementation of power distribution systems (low and medium voltage) for various facilities including medical, industrial, and commercial.
  • Conduct comprehensive electrical studies such as load flow, short circuit, arc flash, harmonics, and coordination.
  • Prepare and review detailed engineering documents, equipment specifications, and data sheets in line with project requirements and engineering principles.
  • Oversee the sizing and selection of electrical equipment and provide construction observation and field support during startup and commissioning.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, clients, and cross-disciplinary teams to review shop drawings and submittals.
  • Integrate architectural, mechanical, civil, and structural elements into electrical design.
  • Manage assigned projects, directing team members and subcontractors as necessary.
  • Engage in business development by writing proposals and maintaining client relationships.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to cross-functional technical support.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration in Minnesota is required; additional state licenses are advantageous.
  • 8–10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with proven expertise in electrical power system design.
  • Strong experience in designing utility and infrastructure projects.
  • Proficient in Revit for building and site electrical systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant industry codes such as NEC, NFPA, IBC, and Life Safety Code.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Effective leadership skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and adaptability skills.
  • Ability to engage directly with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
Travel Requirements
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% for site visits and client meetings.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable for rental or company vehicles.
  • Ability to meet commercial travel requirements without restrictions.
