Job description

Job Summary:
RaceTrac is seeking an Analytics Consultant to join their Enterprise Strategic Analytics + Data Science team. This role involves leading analytical projects, collaborating with business units, and leveraging data-driven insights to enhance business growth and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and execute analytical projects, applying appropriate methodologies and techniques, under the guidance of Analytics Partners.
• Conduct data exploration, cleaning, and preparation to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Develop and implement analytical models, leveraging statistical and machine learning techniques as needed.
• Generate actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
• Communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences through clear visualizations and presentations.
• Actively participate in the implementation and deployment of analytical solutions.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and Analytics Partners to understand their goals, challenges, and analytical requirements.
• Proactively identify opportunities to leverage analytics to drive business value and improve decision-making.
• Translate business needs into well-defined analytical projects, outlining scope, objectives, and success metrics.
• Conduct comprehensive business assessments and needs analyses to inform project prioritization and execution.
• Support Analytics Partners in developing strategic recommendations and roadmaps.
• Demonstrate proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R).
• Utilize data visualization tools to create clear and impactful presentations.
• Stay abreast of emerging analytical techniques and technologies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to data and analysis.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of data pipelines and analytical infrastructure.
• Work closely with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and other team members to deliver comprehensive solutions.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts, fostering their development and growth.
• Contribute to a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment within the team.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration and alignment to ensure successful project outcomes.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Economics, Finance, Math, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in consulting, analytics, data science, or a related field, with demonstrated success in delivering analytical projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business problems into analytical frameworks.
• Proven experience performing business analysis or financial/statistical data analysis, preferably in a retail environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and knowledge of Business Intelligence Tools such as Microsoft Power BI.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL, SAS, SPSS, Palantir, Python, and other relevant analytical software.
Preferred:
• Knowledge of syndicated data like IRI and Nielsen is a plus.
