Primary Function:
The Project Manager is responsible for the full lifecycle management of electrical construction projects within DACON's substation and power systems portfolio, including active participation in project estimating and bid development. The Project Manager leads cross-functional project teams, manages client relationships, and ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget, while contributing to competitive and accurate estimates for new high-voltage and power construction opportunities.
Duties & Responsibilities
Employee may be called upon to perform any or all of the following functions:
Manage all phases of electrical construction projects - including planning, procurement, execution, and closeout - for substation and medium- to high-voltage power system projects.
Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts; proactively identify and resolve schedule and cost deviations.
Serve as the primary client contact for day-to-day project communications; build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
Lead project kickoff meetings and recurring project review meetings with internal teams, subcontractors, and client stakeholders.
Manage subcontracts, vendor agreements, and material procurement in coordination with the procurement team.
Direct and mentor Assistant Project Managers and project support staff assigned to projects.
Administer the project change management process including identification, pricing, negotiation, and documentation of change orders.
Review and approve project invoices, cost coding, and monthly cost reports; forecast project financial performance through completion.
Coordinate with field supervision and engineering to resolve technical issues and maintain project quality standards.
Ensure full compliance with project safety plans, Dacon's safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Prepare and present project status reports, schedule updates, and financial summaries for senior management and clients.
Prepare and manage complete project estimates for assigned bid opportunities, including labor, material, subcontractor, and equipment costs for substation and medium- to high-voltage electrical construction projects.
Lead pre-bid site walks and bid strategy discussions; coordinate subcontractor and vendor solicitations to support competitive and accurate estimates.
Review and validate estimate assumptions, exclusions, and clarifications; participate in the bid review and approval process prior to proposal submission.
Support the handoff from estimate to execution by clearly communicating cost assumptions, scope inclusions/exclusions, and risk items to the project delivery team.
Perform special projects and complete other duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree on a year-for-year basis (4 years = Bachelor's equivalent).
Minimum 5 years of project management experience in electrical construction, substation construction, or power systems.
Demonstrated experience managing projects from $2M to $20M+ in substation, transmission, or medium- to high-voltage electrical infrastructure.
Experience with project estimating for high-voltage or power construction projects preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
Proficiency in Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project for schedule development and management.
Experience with Procore or similar construction management software preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; strong financial acumen with experience managing project cost reports and forecasts.
Excellent client-facing communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Valid driver's license required; regular travel to project sites required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods during office-based work.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during field visits.
Ability to walk on uneven terrain, gravel, and graded surfaces.
Ability to navigate active construction environments including stairs, ramps, and temporary walkways.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, FR clothing, and hearing protection.
Ability to travel to project sites as required.
Environmental Conditions

Exposure to varying weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, and rain.
