The Opportunity:
CACI has an immediate opening for an Electrical / Mechanical / Systems / Ocean Engineer to support engineering and planning efforts for Submarine Rescue and Undersea Mobility platforms at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNS) in Kittery, Maine.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop modernization plans/changes for the US Navy Deep Submergence Assets and Support Systems
  • Perform mechanical, electrical and/or structural analysis
  • Evaluate components and materials and systems to ensure system integration, compatibility and stability
  • Some travel will be required
  • Work will be in support of US Navy Submarines, Submersibles or Deep Submergence projects

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Electrical / Mechanical / Systems / Ocean engineering degree from an ABET Accredited College/University (other degree disciplines may be considered)
  • Professional engineering experience performing complex engineering calculations such as heat transfer, fluid flow, piping stress, mechanical stress etc.
  • Experience with configuration management and document control
  • Demonstrated ability to manage work in a time-sensitive operational environment
  • Ability to achieve excellence working individually or as part of a team
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret clearance

Desired:
  • Prior experience specifically with US Navy Deep Submergence Assets and Support Systems.
  • Familiarity with Scope of Certification (P9290/Man-010) requirements
  • Electrical power background (NSTM 300)
  • Familiarity with Military Specifications, ANSI and ASME standards
  • Related submarine / submersible experience with design, maintenance, operations, repair and/or testing
  • Experience with MS Office suite of products
