What You Will Do:

We are seeking a Junior Power Platform Developer to support CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) programs.

This role is focused on Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate delivery and requires deep, hands-on experience building workflow-intensive, user-facing applications in sensitive federal environments.

The position supports CDC operational systems where workflow accuracy, usability, and reliability are critical. Successful candidates will demonstrate with sufficient experience and strong practical experience designing workflows and polished user interfaces in Power Platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and support complex Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven) used for operational and program management workflows
  • Develop and maintain Power Automate workflows including multi-step approvals, routing logic, notifications, and exception handling
  • Ensure workflows operate correctly in high-sensitivity client environments, where errors pose delivery and compliance risk
  • Design clean, intuitive UI/UX that enables adoption by non-technical federal users
  • Build applications that centralize program data, support historical records, and enable operational visibility
  • Apply role-based access controls (RBAC) and security best practices in federal client environments
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders and account teams to refine requirements and iterate solutions
  • Support deployment, user onboarding, and iterative enhancements

What You Will Need:

  • Minimum of THREE (3) years of experience delivering Power Platform, Power Apps and Power Automate solutions
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a "Public Trust"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their Public Trust prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an active Public Trust or suitability are preferred.
  • US Citizenship is contractually required for this role
  • Bachelor's Degree is required
  • Experience supporting workflow-heavy applications (approvals, routing, tracking)
  • Experience modernizing manual, document-driven, or E-Mail-based processes
  • Experience working directly with stakeholders in regulated or structured environments
  • Candidates must demonstrate current, hands-on experience in all areas below:

Microsoft Power Platform (Core)

  • Power Apps (Canvas and/or Model-Driven) - building full applications end-to-end
  • Power Automate - designing and supporting complex workflows and approval processes
  • Coding languages: PowerFX, JSON, & TypeScript
  • Dataverse - data modeling, relationships, and security roles

Workflow Engineering (Critical)

  • Proven experience designing mission-critical workflows within Power Platform
  • Strong understanding of workflow dependencies, error handling, and lifecycle tracking
  • Ability to replace manual or ad-hoc processes with reliable automated solutions

UI / UX Design (Critical)

  • Demonstrated ability to build polished, user-friendly Power Apps
  • Strong attention to layout, usability, navigation, and End-user experience
  • Ability to deliver applications that are production-ready and client-facing, not prototypes
  • Documenting visual designs using iterative agile approaches
  • Displaying Mock-Ups and/or Wireframes
  • Real-Time changes to forms accommodating user requests and/or changes
  • Experience performing product demos with stakeholders

  • Prior Federal Civilian agency experience

The annual salary range for this position is $68,000.00-$113,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
