Job Summary
The Digital Media Specialist supports the development of engaging visual content that advances Georgia Highlands College's brand, recruitment, student engagement, and institutional communications. Working closely with the Creative Media Manager and the Marketing & Communications team, this position assists with photography, videography, video editing, and digital content creation from concept to completion. The Digital Media Specialist produces high-quality visual assets for social media, the college website, digital marketing campaigns, events, and other institutional initiatives while ensuring consistency with the college's brand standards.
Responsibilities
  • Is responsible for understanding, supporting, and carrying out the college's mission, vision, and values and complying with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies.
  • Assists the Creative Media Manager with photography and videography for college events, academic programs, marketing campaigns, and institutional initiatives.
  • Captures, edits, and produces high-quality videos, promotional pieces, interviews, testimonials, event recaps, and other digital media for internal and external audiences.
  • Creates engaging photo, video, and short-form content optimized for social media platforms and other digital communication channels.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing & Communications team to develop creative content that supports recruitment, enrollment, student engagement, and institutional branding.
  • Produces graphic elements, motion graphics, and visual assets used across digital, video, web, and print communications.
  • Edits and enhances photography and video using industry-standard software while maintaining consistent visual quality and brand standards.
  • Organizes, maintains, and archives digital photo and video assets for future institutional use.
  • Assists with live event coverage, livestreams, and multimedia productions as needed.
  • Stays current on emerging social media trends, digital storytelling techniques, and multimedia best practices to enhance audience engagement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field
  • Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having a similar position for two years
  • Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated

Proposed Salary
$52,118 - $55,843 annually
