Job description

Position Overview

American Jereh is hiring an After-Sales Service Electrician (E-Frac) to support the startup, operation, troubleshooting, repair, and reliability of E-Frac equipment throughout the Permian Basin.

This is a hands-on field position for an electrician who can troubleshoot industrial power and control systems during equipment outages, identify the failure, complete the repair, verify system operation, and return equipment to service.

The employee may live in Midland, Odessa, or the surrounding Permian Basin communities, provided they maintain a reliable residence within reasonable travel distance of the Midland-Odessa area and can report to the Midland location and customer field sites as required during the 21 days on / 14 days off rotation.

Responsibilities

Field Service & Troubleshooting

  • Independently diagnose and repair electrical and control-system failures on E-Frac and related oilfield equipment.
  • Perform field troubleshooting during equipment outages and restore equipment to service.
  • Support commissioning, startup, operational testing, corrective maintenance, and field repairs.
  • Identify electrical faults using schematics, one-line diagrams, test equipment, PLC/HMI information, and field inspection.
  • Complete component replacement, wiring repairs, electrical modifications, testing, and verification before equipment is returned to operation.
  • Support equipment rig-up, rig-down, field preparation, and startup activities.
  • Respond to equipment callouts during the assigned 21-day work rotation.

Electrical, Power & Control Systems

Candidates must have hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance experience with:

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshoot 480V and medium-voltage electrical systems.
  • Work with 13.8kV and other MV/HV equipment within established qualification and safety requirements.
  • Diagnose motor circuits, control circuits, field wiring, communication faults, instrumentation, sensors, and electrical protection devices.
  • Perform electrical testing, continuity checks, insulation-resistance testing, grounding checks, and cable troubleshooting.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, control drawings, and manufacturer procedures.
  • Follow LOTO, NFPA 70E, arc-flash, grounding, isolation, and electrical safety requirements.

Customer & Operational Support

  • Serve as the electrical field-service resource during equipment failures, startup, and operational support.
  • Communicate equipment condition, troubleshooting findings, repair status, and operating limitations to technicians, operators, field leadership, and customers.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and After-Sales Service when additional technical support is required.
  • Confirm repairs and equipment operation before returning systems to service.

Documentation & Reliability

  • Complete service reports, inspection records, troubleshooting findings, and maintenance documentation.
  • Document failed components, corrective actions, parts used, testing completed, and final equipment status.
  • Identify recurring electrical failures and communicate findings to Engineering and service leadership.
  • Provide field feedback regarding equipment reliability and potential design or service improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on industrial, oilfield, power-generation, or field-service electrical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting electrical failures during active equipment outages.
  • Ability to diagnose faults, complete corrective repairs, test the system, and restore equipment to operation.
  • Hands-on experience with VFDs, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, electric motors, power-distribution equipment, control panels, PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, sensors, and electrical protection systems.
  • Working experience with 480V electrical systems.
  • Experience with medium-voltage electrical equipment and distribution systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and control circuits using meters, test equipment, schematics, PLC/HMI information, and system drawings.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and equipment documentation.
  • Knowledge of grounding, electrical isolation, cable testing, LOTO, and electrical safety practices.
  • Ability to work independently in active field operations while knowing when technical escalation is required.
  • Ability to coordinate with technicians, operators, Engineering, field leadership, and customers.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Willingness to work the required 21 days on / 14 days off rotation.
  • Ability to live in Midland, Odessa, or a surrounding Permian Basin community, maintain a reliable residence within reasonable travel distance, and report to the Midland facility and customer field locations as operational needs require.

Technical Qualification Requirements

Before unrestricted solo field deployment, the selected candidate must demonstrate working qualification in:

  • 13.8kV and MV/HV electrical systems
  • Switchgear troubleshooting
  • Transformer troubleshooting
  • MCC and motor-circuit troubleshooting
  • VFD diagnostics
  • PLC and HMI troubleshooting
  • Instrumentation and sensor diagnostics
  • Electrical protection systems
  • Power-distribution fault isolation
  • Cable and grounding-system testing
  • Electrical drawings and one-line diagrams
  • Safe isolation and return-to-service procedures
  • Independent response to equipment outages

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current or previous American Jereh equipment experience.
  • Direct E-Frac or electric fracturing experience.
  • Experience with E-Frac units and power distribution units.
  • Experience with control boxes, PLC components, flowmeters, sensors, field junction boxes, and field cabling.
  • Oilfield commissioning, startup, rig-up, rig-down, and corrective-maintenance experience.
  • Texas Electrical Apprentice, Journeyman Electrician, Master Electrician, or comparable industrial electrical qualification.
  • Experience training electrical technicians or equipment operators.

Work Schedule & Environment

  • 21 days on / 14 days off rotation
  • Field-based throughout Midland, Odessa, and the surrounding Permian Basin area.
  • Nights, weekends, holidays, extended hours, and equipment callouts may be required during the scheduled 21-day rotation.
  • Employees may reside outside Midland or Odessa provided they maintain a reliable residence within reasonable travel distance and can report as required.
  • Work is performed around industrial electrical systems, heavy equipment, active oilfield operations, noise, heat, dust, and changing weather conditions.
  • Required PPE and all company and customer-site safety procedures must be followed.
