Overview:
Role: Network Engineer
Location: Houston, TX
Duration: 6 months

• Cisco networking (Routing, Switching, Wireless)
• Protocols: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
• Network security and compliance frameworks
• Monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Wireshark)
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management abilities
Roles & Responsibilities
Network Design & Implementation
• Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
• Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management.
Operations & Monitoring
• Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds, Orion, and Wireshark.
• Respond to and resolve network outages and performance issues, escalating when necessary.
• Maintain VMware hosts and virtual environments; perform health checks and capacity planning.
Security & Compliance
• Implement and enforce network security measures, including VPNs, IDS/IPS, and firewall policies.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., NERC CIP, ISO 27001) and organizational security policies.
Incident & Change Management
