01 - Salary w/Benefits Professional Redmond, WA, US

Salary Range: $135,601.00 To $163,021.00 Annually

U.S.-based employees have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company contribution, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, and wellbeing benefits, among others. U.S.-based employees also receive, per calendar year, up to 6 scheduled paid holidays. Additionally, eligible hourly/non-exempt and exempt employees accrue up to 112 hours of PTO based on years of service and may annually take up to 8 hours of paid volunteer time. Additional paid sick leave is also provided if required by state or local law.

Summary of Position:

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the architecture, design, engineering, and operational support of Denali's enterprise network, which is primarily Cisco-based with Ubiquiti UniFi deployments at select remote sites. This role provides expert-level routing, switching, wireless, and network security support (including Cisco ISE, Cisco Umbrella, and Cisco Firepower Threat Defense), and also maintains and supports network infrastructure associated with customer equipment that Denali hosts on-premise on behalf of its customers. The Senior Network Engineer participates in planning, installation, maintenance, management, and coordination of all network services, and serves as a senior technical escalation point for complex network issues, including Wi-Fi troubleshooting and remediation.

Essential Functions:
  • Provide expert-level network design and daily operational support for Denali's enterprise-wide Cisco network infrastructure, including sites with Ubiquiti UniFi equipment
  • Lead architecture and design of routing, switching, wireless, and network security solutions to meet business and operational requirements
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for complex network incidents; perform root cause analysis on service-interrupting events and implement measures to prevent recurrence
  • Design, configure, deploy, and maintain Cisco ISE for network access control, authentication, and policy enforcement
  • Administer and optimize Cisco Umbrella for DNS-layer security and web filtering across the environment
  • Administer and support Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) for network security, threat prevention, and firewall policy management
  • Troubleshoot and remediate wireless (Wi‑Fi) connectivity, coverage, and performance issues across corporate and remote sites
  • Implement and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure across LAN, WAN, and remote-site environments
  • Support and maintain network infrastructure associated with customer equipment hosted on‑premise at Denali facilities, ensuring segmentation, availability, and security standards are met
  • Design, configure, monitor, and optimize local and wide area networks for maximum availability, performance, and security
  • Design, configure, and manage network security features, including firewalls, VPNs, and access control, in coordination with the security team
  • Develop, maintain, and update a library of network technical documentation, including topology diagrams and standard operating procedures
  • Evaluate and recommend new network hardware, software, and technologies for compatibility, scalability, and security
  • Partner with cross‑functional IT and engineering teams to plan, install, and coordinate network changes, upgrades, and new deployments

This position is based in a professional office setting and regularly utilizes workplace technology, including computers, smartphones, multifunction printers, cloud‑based filing systems, and collaboration tools.

Physical Demands:

This role requires physical capabilities that support the successful execution of key responsibilities. The position involves remaining seated at a workstation for approximately 75% of the time, with occasional movement throughout the office to access equipment, supplies, and shared resources. Required Education :
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • 5+ years of experience
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer, with demonstrated experience at a Senior level
  • Expert-level knowledge of enterprise network architecture and design
  • Expert-level experience with Cisco routing and switching in a production enterprise environment
  • Expert-level experience deploying, configuring, and supporting Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine)
  • Expert-level experience administering and supporting Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD)
  • Required: proven, hands‑on experience troubleshooting and remediating Wi‑Fi/wireless issues
  • Experience with Ubiquiti UniFi equipment, particularly in a remote‑site context, strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting wireless LAN controllers (Cisco WLC C9800), SD‑WAN via Cisco vManage Dashboard, and centralized security management platforms (Cisco FMC or FDM)
  • Experience supporting network infrastructure for customer‑owned equipment hosted on‑premise
  • Strong working knowledge of network security fundamentals, including firewalls, VPNs, and segmentation
  • Strong documentation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills
  • Ability to prioritize competing critical tasks and work independently with minimal direction
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
  • Professional certification: CCNP or CCIE, or a similar certification level from another vendor
  • One or more of the following certifications preferred: CCIE Security, CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure, CCIE Data Center, or CCNP Data Center
