Job Title: Junior Network Technician
Location: Dallas-Fort Worth, TX (Local Candidates Only)
Duration: 6+ Month Contract
We are seeking a Junior Network Technician with 1-3 years of hands-on networking experience to support infrastructure operations across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. This role is ideal for someone who has a solid foundation in networking and is looking to expand their technical skills while working alongside experienced network engineers. Candidates must be local to the DFW area and willing to travel between customer sites as needed.
In this role, you will assist with the installation, configuration, and support of network infrastructure, including rack and stack of equipment, structured cabling, hardware deployments, switch installations, equipment replacements, and basic Cisco switch configuration. You'll also troubleshoot network connectivity issues, perform routine maintenance, and support network upgrades and deployments in enterprise environments.
Responsibilities:
  • Install, rack, stack, and cable network equipment at customer locations.
  • Perform basic configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco switches.
  • Assist with network hardware deployments, replacements, and upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot Layer 1 and basic Layer 2 network connectivity issues.
  • Label, document, and maintain network equipment and cabling.
  • Work closely with senior engineers during network implementations and maintenance activities.
  • Travel throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area to support multiple customer sites.
  • Follow established documentation, change management, and safety procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of hands-on experience supporting network infrastructure.
  • Local to the Dallas-Fort Worth area and able to travel between customer sites.
  • CCNA certification preferred, or actively pursuing certification.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco switches.
  • Experience with rack and stack, structured cabling, patch panels, and hardware installations.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, and DHCP.
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow in enterprise networking.
