Since 1993, Ragle Inc. has completed numerous construction projects across Texas, Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois. We specialize in highway and bridge construction, with additional expertise in deep excavation, grading, and pipe work. Our reputation is built on meeting commitments and delivering strong results through experienced, dedicated teams.
Ragle Inc. is seeking a Jr. Estimator to join our Dallas/Fort Worth Heavy Highway Division. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, team-focused, and eager to gain both office and field experience in heavy civil construction.Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in coordinating the total estimating effort for assigned bids and projects
  • Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and support the preparation of detailed cost estimates
  • Analyze project risks and incorporate historical data into unit costs and man-hour estimates
  • Assist in evaluating subcontractor and vendor quotes
  • Support bid preparation and help determine cost-effectiveness of projects
  • Communicate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to resolve scope or pricing questions
  • Review final estimates and assist with applying strategic cost factors
Field Exposure Requirement
  • Participate in site visits for projects during the bidding phase to better understand scope and conditions
  • Complete a field engineering rotation on projects you assisted in estimating, providing onsite support as needed
  • This role requires time in the field; work hours may vary based on project needs
Qualifications & Requirements
  • 1+ years of heavy civil estimating experience preferred but not required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret construction drawings
  • Basic understanding of construction methods and terminology
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and adapt
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with estimating software (HeavyBid), scheduling software (MS Project or Primavera), or similar tools is a plus
